Anika Noi Rose is an American actress and performer, is known for her performance in the film The Princess and The Frog. She is most famous for her role as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana was Disney's very first princess of African descent. Disney Legends listed her one of the 2011 Disney Legends. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson, her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born June 6, 1972) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for the role for Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the original African American Disney Princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. She is best known for the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2005) and her portrayal of LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in the Starz series Power. Apart from her acting, she is known for the roles she performed in theater. They include Emmie Thibodeaux, who played the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical was presented and Beneatha as part of the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) where was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Play nominations were presented.
