Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher will cover everything including NASA's recently-created Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin was raised in the space sector as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years she's covered space policies under Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. Kristin also covered presidential impeachment proceedings and the 2020 presidential election and the efforts of two administrations in order to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. The reporter also traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States as well as a secret visit to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Kristin worked her way through the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before being hired by the network. She won one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Kristin founded Field Mouse Films with her experience behind the camera in 2014. Field Mouse Films specialized in creating documentaries for corporate clients, which included Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science of Journalism at Boston University. Kristin is married with a daughter, and their three-year-old son in Washington, D.C.
